    Danau Mono (California)

    Mono Lake atau Danau Mono adalah sebuah danau yang memiliki keunikan di California, Amerika Serikat. Yang membuatnya unik adalah terdapatnya tufa di sekitar dan tengah danau. Tufa adalah sedimen bebatuan yang terbentuk dari letusan gunung di sekitarnya.

    Danau ini diyakini telah ada sejak 760.000 tahun yang lalu. Ini menjadikan danau Mono sebagai danau tertua di Amerika Utara. Sejak 28 September 1994 danau ini tertutup untuk umum agar terjadi stabilitas pada ketinggian air di danau ini, tapi tetap sebagai objek para fotografer pro karena keindahannya.
